This is what i'm listening to...

They're so indifferent... they must be cool!

....On a Friday night laying low to recover from the mistakes of the night before haha.

Sorry I haven't written in days but I promise you this post will be worth the wait and chock full of downloads and new music.

First of all let's talk about this new Radiohead song(s). First of all, could the newest have been leaked by Thom himself?? This guy over at guardian.co.uk is saying that a lot of fans think so being that the song "These Are My Twisted Words" might have come from the same IP address as the other song released this week "Harry Patch (In Memory Of)". Could all be hearsay but I think it would kind of be ingenious to leak a song pretending it was from some anonymous illegal source. One thing thats for sure is its def Radiohead. Here's what was in the attachment with the song file....really if he planned all of this it's genius (wouldn't be the first time he's been called that). Cool stuff:

i just wanted to reassure readers

that following representations

seeking confirmation

that before your very eyes

behind the wall of ice

that the box is not under threat

however they are set to remove

other boxes

in fact i have the list in front of me

i went to a briefing on their plans

and challenged them to tell me

exactly what the cost would be

they spoke in broad terms

Cryptic ain't it?

Also, another band I've been waiting to hear more from for a couple of months. Wolfmother. New song out on the internet today called "New Moon Rising" and its the best effort from the new band since the new cast members. It's kinda sick. But you know how when you first heard "Love Train", "Woman" or "Joker and the Thief"? I remember exactly what I was doing when I heard each one for the first time and my reaction was the same: "who the helllll is this new guy sounding like Ozzy Ozborne and Jimmy Page's lovechild?" I was taken aback by the raw rock simplicity of all 3 riff driven songs. "New Moon Rising" does not deliver this same affect!

They say you have your whole life to write your first album so maybe thats why so far what we've heard is lacking this certain factor that gained Wolfmother so much hype. However, this new single is still a great track and is nonetheless Rock Band ready haha. It also shows for the first time (I think), Stockdale's own style rather than the style of the greats he's so often been compared to. It really is just great hands down rock and roll.

Listen here.

New track from R&B singer Usher called "Cruisin'". I'm not gonna lie I enjoy this song a good amount... you won't be hearing me playing it driving down the street though. Believe it or not I'm pretty sure Usher was one of the first CDs I went and bought haha. He's come a long way and even though he hasn't quite become the next Michael Jackson he's had a pretty damn successful career. It's weird that he's now like a music veteran.

Here's the rest of the playlist of songs I made today. For some reason I just found myself listening over and over to a specific group of songs but they make a pretty sick playlist:

:::::Cinematic Sunrise - Pulling a Piano From a Pond

--- I'm convinced that this is one of the best constructed and written pop songs I've ever heard haha. Great lyrics, vocals, and music.

::::::I'm listening to a lot of Lennon in anticipation of the Beatles Rock Band (how syked are you?!!?):

John Lennon - Stand By Me

John Lennon & Yoko Ono - I'm Moving On

--- Only started listening to his music with Yoko this week and I am definitely a fan so far.

The Beatles - Don't Let Me Down

::::::The White Stripes - Fell in Love With a Girl

::::::Passion Pit - The Reeling

---- Doesn't really fit well with the rest of these songs but I love it too much.

::::::Grinderman - Get It On

---- My friend got me into Nick Cave finally after hearing his name forever and trying to get into him once before. I heard this song once before, then he played it for me, then showed me a video online, and all three times it came off kind of painful to listen to. Then suddenly...I got it. If you aren't familiar with Nick Cave, he doesn't really follow any of the rules of conventional music and is basically a madman. He reminds me of Modest Mouse cuz their lead guy has that same kinda tone but all of his stuff is just really raw and passionate and passionate. I guess its an acquired taste but it's got me thinking to myself if there's any other great artists I've written off too quickly just because I don't really get it right away...

That's all for tonight folks.

Cya next time,

- Nick
